Default Erratic Climate Control/Radio Lights? 05 LGT

Wife says on rare ocassions, all of the climate control and radio lights will flicker and go off. Sometimes it's just flickering, sometimes the lights go off until she restarts the car. Anyone had this happen? We have the factory warranty, but I have my doubts if this is something the dealer will be able to find and fix unless something goes out completely. Any opinions?

On 2nd Gen Legacies, there is an "Illumination Control Module". I think it's basically a relay with some resistors and capacitors that is hooked up to the rheostat and controls all the interior lighting. I'd check that (located under the steering column on the backside of the plastic trim piece on 2nd gens.) and maybe unplug and plug it back in to make sure it's got a good connection. Also, does it make a difference whether the light switch is in the off/park/on position?

Also could be a grounding issue, perhaps.

I think mine did that a couple of times when I was changing out all the cluster bulbs. It fixed itself when I turned the car off and back on. Similar issue. But it went away after I was back in the cluster. Have you opened up the dash at all lately?

Default Thanks for the reply...

Will have to check these items when I get home, but have definitely not opened the dash (ever).

The 05's had an issue with the rolling dimmer switch. Many develop a short within the switch to cause this to happen.
It's possible to stop the flickering by rolling the switch, but from experience it doesn't completely go away unless it's replaced.
