Default crank work

i did a search last night and couldn't find anything. who/what vendors do crank polishing? also where is the cheapest place to buy a new crank if it would be cheaper than getting mine done+shipping?

Check with local speed shops who they send cranks to for polishing.
There are crank polishing shops all over the country that service racing engine builders. Most any large city probably has one or two near by if there is an active racing community.

Check your local yellow pages listings for crank balancing shops many of them also do polishing or know where to send a crank to get it polished.

I've seen stock forged 79mm ej257 cranks sold new for less than $300 on some sites.

think i'll just buy a new one and sell mine. it has very light scoring, i can only feel it with my thumbnail on two of the journals...
