Default WRX window control / one touch up AND down?

when i had the door off for the speakers, i notice they window control module is the same as nissan/infinity.

how the infinity has one touch up and down feature but WRX only has one touch down

anyone has done a swap?

i also notice the stock wrx module (bottom side) has a slot for some kind of plug

anyone has an infinity wanna try it out?

hmmm... I assumed a one button up feature was safety hazard. Maybe the Infinity has some kind of sensor to prevent smashed fingers?

That would be the mystery socket. It is an enigma. It will drive you mad. Just forget you ever saw it. Some think it is used for power mirrors. Others believe it to be a door coutesy light socket. Only the Japanese government knows for sure.

I wondered why my car had auto-down but not up... then I remembered how much it hurt when my sister was trying to close her passenger window with my fingers there. At least she stopped when I started screaming

I recently drove an Opel (GM product) rental car in Europe that had one touch up and down on the driver's and passenger's side. Now I know for sure that it is possible. Too bad US cars will never get experience the luxuries that a 1.4 litre rental car has in Europe.

I don't know about the whole Infinity thing, but I'm pretty sure that there has been some discussion about aftermarket controls for one touch window roll-up/down in the Audio/Video/Security forum.

The mistery plug is for side-view mirror control, which on Nissan's, is mounted infront of the window switches.

My old Audi had one touch down all around and up on drivers and passengers (I think).

Anyway, my buddy has an 02 Maxima, I'm trying to persuade him to let me try his switches out.

My 01 Maxima had the one-touch up for the driver's window. It also had a sensor that would stop the window if it sensed an obstruction. It was awesome - pulling away from a toll and being able to shift because you weren't wasting time putting a window up and not freezing your ass off because you were shifting leaving the window for later.

The DEI is fine, but only if you've got it working with the alarm. We went to control this function from the buttons on the doors themselves. .www.autoloc.com has a product that's $40, looks like it could be the solution but haven't looked into it at all.

DEI is a name a car electronics manufactor. 530T is the name of one of their window roll-up/roll-down that works with their alarms. A relay is a simple piece of electronics.

Default auto up

When I used to have my Celica I was reading where someone had modified their window switch to autoup. They had to add a contact onto the circuit board for the all the way back position when you pull up on the switch. Search the forums at newcelica.org if you're interested in it.

My DEI alarm will roll up and down the windows from the remote, when I arm the car and in the car. If you have any questions about this talk to a donnie on the board. he can help you...
