Default Cigarette lighter removal (help)

I have gotten everything out including the ash tray, hvac, head unit. But somehow I cannot remove the cigarette lighter cylinder. It burned out long ago and I replaced the fuse but it still doesn't work, but I heard everyone told me my cylinder is fried so I am trying to take it apart. Any help or link would be grateful. Thanks.

P.s. The cylinder feels like its linked with the ash tray hole so I don't know if its as one.

I have a 2004 Subaru WRX.

The cylinder is at least two parts threaded together. Just unscrew the back portion(behind the dash) using a counter-clockwise motion. Of course make sure you have already disconnected the wires

Hope this helps.

I found this out while I was trying to fix a loose connection, my radar detector power-cycled every time I hit a bump. The cylinder just needed to be tightened.

Thanks, I'm going to try that.
