Default OEM Air Intake box

I recently got the adaptor for the cone filter for my 99 Subaru Legacy OB, however, when I tried to attach the cone filter it was touching the ABS module at the right side (where the air intake box is installed by Subaru).

My question is how to remove the air intake box? It looks like there are two screws attached to the frame.

Also, does anyone has the HKS 'mushroom' air filter (the green one)? Anyone know is the diameter for the mushroom screwed to, is that 3" diameter?

There should just be 2 10mm or 12mm bolts close to the motor that go down into the front subframe. Then just pull the airbox towards the motor (it has a little nub that sits in the fender wall) and that's it.

Mine was bolted to inner fender (with a 10mm), and the thing was so huge I had to take loose the fender (also 10mm). It was PIA....and a 10mm job.

You have to move the fender liner out of the way, but it really just needs a good yank to come out after you unbolt it.
