Default My JDM fogs dont work..Any advice?

Hey guys..My jdm fogs do not work..The blinkers on them work..but the actual lights dont work..I checked the fuses and they both are good..So i figure i probably have to go through all the wiring and try to figure it out?
Problem is..I dont know jack sh** about wiring/electrical or anything of that sort..

Fog lights don't have blinkers... I'm confused about something! I'm relatively close to you, if you can't figure it out in a week or so and wanted to drive down I could help you. I have JDM fogs on my 97 GT.

Cheers

They are turn lights, they come on steady to light up the road in which ever direction you are indicating.

It is a bit more difficult to wire them "correctly" with the directional lights.

I just have mine wired so the corners are lit all the time with the projectors.

What is the correct way to wire them?

It almost seems like the outside lights should be on with the projectors, and the inside lights should be on with the high beams.

outsides are on all the time regardless, inside projectors come on with a switch. My car was factory wired for fogs though, I just had to change a few connectors around. That is how they are supposed to operate though.

have you checked the bulbs? relays? switch even? all of those can fail, and you don't want to be like me and replace the entire wiring harness, only to find out that it's the relay that burned out! if you don't know how to check the relay, one of the easiest ways is to just find the relay itself (usually a little black box with four wires coming out of it), hold onto it with a couple of your fingers, and then turn on the fog lights (remember that if you're wired into the factory wiring, the headlights have to be on as well). if the relay "clicks", but the lights still don't come on, then it's possible that the relay is working just fine (i say "possible" because i've had situations where the relay would click, but ended up not working anyway). if it doesn't "click", it might be the problem, but you need to check further up the harness first.

bulbs, just check to see that the filament hasn't burned. if the bulbs has a lot of black stuff on the inside, and the filament rattles around, you need to replace it. for the switch, unless you know how to use the various meters, it's probably easiest to just buy a cheap switch, connect the wires to it, and see if that solves the problem.

also check your connections at the battery and/or fuse box so make sure that they're solid. check all of your grounds for good contact (ground has to touch bare metal, painted surface won't work). grounds are usually black wires just in case you didn't know that.

every time i have problems with my foglights, i check the entire system like this. first bulbs, then relays, then switch, then connections. i have a bunch of spare relays, switches and connectors lying around though, so it's easy for me to check most of the time. even if you don't know much about wiring, this much of it is easy to learn, and doesn't take much to figure out most of these simple problems.

oh and check your fuses too, i almost forgot that.

I don't think that is correct. ReubenH I think is correct.

The outside lights should be wired with your turn signals. When you activate the turn signal, the light will turn on. The inside projectors are on all the time if you have the fog lights active.

I prefer having all the bulbs on all the time, although it seems the outside bulbs burn out pretty fast.
