Default NESIC goes to the Drive-in August 23rd Leicester, MA

OK, it's summer, we have cars, we like movies ......

xxthatgirlxx (sarah) and I had a brainstorm ....

Lets go to a drive-in!

When:
Saturday August 23rd

Where:
1675 MAIN ST
LEICESTER, MA
01524-1941
Phone: 508-892-4400
Click for Google Map

There is a big Wal-Mart 1/4 mile east of the Drive in on Route 9 (Main St) that we'll met up at first and go in as a group and attempt to park together, it doesn't show up on Google maps as it's brand new, but it's on the opposite side of the street as the wallmart.

Cost:
$20 per car (payable to the theater, but carpool and save dough!, how many nesicer's can you squeeze in a wagon haha, one person per seat please)

Movie to see:

Screen 3
Pinapple Express
Step Brothers
[/size]

What to bring
Chairs!!!! and if anyone has a decent stereo setup that we can all share and sit outside so we can do this as a group
Snacks / Non Alcoholic drinks (be discreet, while I've never had a problem bringing stuff in, lets not give them a reason to get pissed off)
Bug spray (just in case)
Windex/Papertowels (clean windshields if you're watching from inside the car)

OOhh. I might be in for this. I can put an inflatable couch in the back of my truck... or beach chairs...

I'll pass it by my wife.

Sounds like fun! Not sure I'll be able to attend as I'll be at an NER autocross in NH that weekend.

Updated some information in the first post, there is a brand new Wal-Mart 1/4 mile east of the drive in on route 9 we can meet at first so we can enter as a group.

Assuming I stick to Rt 9 (from Rt 27 in Natick) it should only take 1 hr and 10 minutes to cover the 35 miles out to Lee's sister (how do you locals pronounce Leicester ?)

Does the drive-in broadcast the soundtrack over an AM radio frequency ?

FM

And the locals pronounce it "lester"

And if I were you I'd hit the pike to exit 10, and come up 56

Okay, stop and go traffic on Rt. 9 totally blows... If I take the Mass Pike (I-90) to Exit 10 I should take Rt 12 headed Southwest towards Oxford, pick up Rt 20 and then bang a hard right when I get to Texas, and then shoot up Rt 56 heading North ? Doesn't look to be that hard.

Quote:
Take exit 10 toward Worcester/I-290/I-395/Auburn/RT-12 - 0.6 mi
Keep right at the fork, follow signs for RT-20 W/Sturbridge/Charlton/RT-12 S and merge onto RT-12/Southbridge St - 0.8 mi
Turn right at West St - 1.2 mi
Turn left at Rochdale St - 0.5 mi
Continue on Comins Rd - 0.4 mi
Turn right at Leicester St/RT-56
Continue to follow RT-56 - 2.4 mi
Turn right at Pleasant St/RT-56 - 1.8 mi
Turn left at S Main St/RT-9 (heading West for ~ 1.9 miles)

I'm thinkin you meant rt 56. If you were on Rt 53, you'd be somewhere on the south shore (not even close!) so it would be a lil hard!
