I'm suprised there isn't more of a market for tomei parts over here. The only tomei product I ever see in the states is the unequal length tomei header.
and if im not retarded and can read the document right 68 inlet 56 exhaust? edit (actually looking at it again the 68 prob means the exducer diam not inlet, duh) Last edited by SlickRick51586; 07-12-2008 at 09:53 PM. |

Karmasi16, thx for the suport.
For TOMEI items we never have a problem with it. And TOMEI product dont need to be dealer to get warrenty. If there is any problem contact your supplier and ship the item back to TOMEI USA office. They will do inspection and take care of them. EJ TOMEI Turbo kit - its is 20g turbo, rating about 400hp range as I recall talking to Eiji san (CEO) of TOMEI USA. |

Tomei has SUPER nice stuff..... no junk in their catalog.....
They are one of the tuners like JUN who I have MUCHO respect for.... well executed engineering without overkill on power in a narrow band, they strive for a broad power curve..... p.s.- I have a set of Tomei rods going in a friend/customer's engine soon.... also an EJ207!!! they are much nicer than the brian crower or eagle rods.... |

What ECU tune are you running, i.e. remapped, piggy back, etc... Can you give some feed back on your exp. with this turbo, and if you have any experience with other turbo setups. I was looking around for my friend who wants to upgrade his 05 STI to a larger turbo, he is running Cobb AP v2, stg 2.... What supporting mods will he need for this turbo with his current set up (Stock STI injectors, stock fuel pump, 3" catless TBE)? |

The car's tuned via open source ECU, which is a reflash/remap system, much like Accessport.
I went straight from my Stage 2 TD04 setup to this turbo, so I can’t really compare it to a VF39 or anything similar. I can say that I went from 237/295 on the TD04 to 343/371 on a very tame preliminary base map. Both were measured on the same dyno. On my car, the turbo makes 22 psi @ anywhere from 3400 – 3600 RPM and holds 19 all the way to my 7K redline. As you can imagine, compared to a Stage 2 WRX setup, it is night and day, and there’s actually top end now, though that has a lot to do with the Tomei cams I’m also running. Tomei talks a lot about how smooth they intended the power delivery to be, and I can say they nailed it in that regard. Power comes on so smoothly, so easily that it’s almost deceptive. The car has a much more linear powerband and the response is almost reminiscent of a naturally aspirated car. Instead of feeling like a bigger turbo just dropped into a car, it feels almost like a factory setup in that it’s so well integrated and is so responsive. The car has been retuned and is making more power now, however I don’t yet have dyno numbers to say exactly how much more. As far as supporting mods, it’s a very personal matter in terms of choice, but FWIW, I went with PE 800cc injectors, Walbro 255lph fuel pump, Spearco TMIC, an Agency Power downpipe, and HKS Carbon Ti catback. I wanted the least restriction possible. It should be noted that I’m also running the Tomei Expreme equal length header, designed specifically for the 2.5, with the matching uppipe. This is not all necessary, but it’s definitely something I’d recommend. Since his car is an ’05, I’d look into the 850cc injectors, since you can get those in side feed for the STi’s, as well as the Bosch/Denso 290LpH fuel pump, which unfortunately wouldn’t fit my ’07. |
