Default Good Summer/Autox Tire

Direzza Sport Z1 Star Spec

Is the tire i was going to purchase. Will these fit my 06 sti stock bbs rims? Also are these strictly for Auto x or can i run these all summer(i am pretty sure I can) My dad has a good friend that mounts and dismounts tires so i figure i dont have to buy any extra set of rims if i can just get these for the summer and then swap for the witer. I love autox and I had my first today. I need new tires bad?

So are these tires for for summer/autox, and while ur at it recommend me a great winter tire thats awesome in rain and snow. Thanks guys!

What tires are you running right now? How serious are planning to get with auto-x?

As for winter, I love my Hankook Ipikes. They are cheap, but still get the job done.

I looking to get really serious. (but no slicks =)) The guy who won driver of the year recommended me those tires. I just want to know if these guys are capable of keeping me stuck to the pavement Off of the auto x track. I dont have the money for two sets of tims and 3 sets of tires. So thanks guys!

+1 for the Star Specs. Great tire on and off the course.

I just put these on my cobb stg2 05 wrx before the last autox I went to. I was almost a full second faster than my buddy's protuned cobb stg2+headers, injectors, tgv deletes, and turbo inlet. He runs Goodyear Eagle F1's. We swapped cars during a fun run and he was also faster in my car. Grip is the great equalizer on the autocross track! It's also monsoon season here and they still grip great in the rain.

If you are going to be serious about autocross get the 245/40R17's, they are a little shorter than stock but almost an inch wider and would be better for autocross than the stock size. If you don't want to go that wide at least go with 235/45R17's.

If you are going to do quite a few autocrosses along with daily driving, these tires will not last much more than 1 year.

Thanks speedy. 1 year is fine bcause they will only be on the car for 6 months. And everytime i autocross i put 30 bucks into a little piggy bank i have for new tires. I figure thats how much i burn per day. what do you mean by 245/40r17's reallllly big newb when it comes to tires. Will those fit my stock BBS rims for an 06 STi. Is that just the size for Z1 star specs'?
Will my guy have any trouble putting them on? THanks in advnace again!

Size: 225/45ZR17

Is the one the reccomend for my car.. If i go with something bigger will i need spacers or something?

They are on backorder.. also, Is there another tire i should look at or should i just be patient and get these?

225 is your width, 45 is the sidewall Z is the speed and 17 is the wheel size. Hes saying go bigger than the stock 225, to a 235 or 245. And yeah it will fit on the stock BBS.
