Diagnose my engine noise please [with video]

Just started making the noise today. Starts about 2500 RPM.

Any ideas? It's an 04 WRX with TBE and ECU tune. The turbo does smoke some at times, and there is some smoke visible when the noise occurs.

Not sure, but that doesn't sound right, hopefully something not major. Some gurus should be able to diagnose it. Doesn't sound like a rod knock.

kinda sounds like the bottom end to me. but hard to pick out its direction on a video.

That sounds like evil rod knock to me. It's time to pull it and see how bad it's broke. Also do not start it and rev it like that anymore it's just damaging it more. That's the sound of metal on metal = bad

I'm no guru but I've heard/seen a bunch of rod-knock youtube videos and they all sounded like this.
