Sounds like a great fundraiser for ALS, county police and state police. Is this considered entrapment? Come on out, speed, drink wine, go home.... in the patty wagon.

I'll try to make it

!

Yeah, it really is a fun run! The roads in PA have banked curves!

But yeah, that's funny Louie... but you're supposed to go the posted speed limit in order to get closest to the target time from checkpoint to checkpoint in order to get a trophy. Personally I could care less about having a trophy. haha

go posted speed to win?

Thats the opposite of my logic, i would lose. I would just go out on a nice sunday and hit those roads on my own.

the posted speed limit doesnt factor in traffic, sitting at lights or stop signs though, you must "find ways" to make up time

without speeding of course

I see, I thought they sent some grandpa down the course at exactly the speed limit, then had his time as the goal time.

What happens if you blow the goal time outta the water? Arrested?

I think people are taking this "fun" event a little to serious.

You'll probably be asked not to come back and you may ruin future events for everyone else.

TSD is fun, but it's definitely not a fast and furious event. It's more about team work and being able to follow directions.

actually dave, if they included carrol road on the route (i think they did) then yes if you go above the advised speed you can get enough air to snap axles and blow diffs (about 2-3.5 feet of air covering 80-110 ft of distance)

<--- has done in a 5.0 mustang and toyota truck

i dont condone such idiocy though

But he does have the mirror shiny decals cut w/ his name and if you did your entire car w/ mirror decals, police radar may bounce off you undedected.

Default Bump for a good charity/cause

I do have a TSD rallycar. It was owned by Jim Mireleess who was the SCCA RoadRally chairman and my shop built it for him w/ skidplate, rally lights, rally odo/map light and mild engine upgrades. Jim passed several years ago unexpectantly and I bought the car from his widow.

I put a cage in it and went overboard w/ modding it. Its been put into service as a recce car for performance rally. My dad did dozens of TSDs back in his day before performance rally existed in the states. Don't see myself entering any after jumping in the deep adrenalene pool w/ rally racing.
