Default The Entire Future Of General Motors, First Shots Of Chevy Cruze, Cadillac SRX

In the now-infamous press conference from General Motors this morning, Chairman and CEO Rick Wagoner not only spelled out GM's strategy to save itself from impending doom, but also revealed pretty much every upcoming GM vehicle that hadn't already been shown to the public. This includes the first photos of the 2011 Chevy Cruze, 2010 Cadillac SRX, 2010 Saab 9-4X, and the 2010 Chevrolet Equinox. This comes in addition to official confirmation of the 2010 Buick LaCrosse, 2010 Cadillac CTS Coupe and 2010 Cadillac CTS Wagon. So basically, along with GM's own downsizing, they're also putting plenty of enterprising spy photographers out of business too.

i put this in the other GM thread but...............

seeing as everyone else will get the cruze while the US is stuck with the cobalt it's not fine, unless they plan on selling both cars at once, which is a little retarded.. infact all the good things i thought GM was doing has turned out to be more "stupid". there is no decent small car coming. all the money is stuck in smaller CUVs. why, why the **** cant they sell a decent small car in america. The ZOMG we forgot all about making the Beat US spec takes the ****ing cake

The vehicles shown are indeed pretty darn nice looking (especially the Cruze and SRX), but please note that that lineup is still rather SUV-heavy.

Chevy Equinox? SRX? 9-4X? Geez. Yea ok, those are smaller cross-overs instead of full-size SUVs, but the market has already shifted passed even small SUVs and even crossovers and is looking for SMALL cars. Even the Cobalt is too big for some... and no, the Aveo isn't even worth looking at.

I can very much see why some people have completely and utterly given up on GM. Even when you think they seem to be headed in the right direction, you get hit with this kind of GM stupidity.

GM works in mysterious ways. The Beat thing has me dumbfounded, though. They set up a website to let Americans pick the name and styling, spend money on product placement in Transformers and now they go "nah, it was never designed with US regulations in mind and it would take 2 years to reengineer it.".
