Every time I autocross...but it goes back into the car when I'm done.

Saving a couple pounds isn't really worth the risk of getting stranded on the side of the road in BFE with a flat and no way to change it.

I remove it for rallyx and autox, then put it back in to drive home.

Oh, and don't drive over the spare, the wheel is just the right size to get wedged on your tire and screw up the front fender.

Oh, and if you DO happen to drive onto the spare, don't try to back off it...that just causes it to go around the wheel well, ensuring the fender can't be fixed.

Removed mine in all three cars. Replaced with Continental's Comfort Kit/compressor thingy.

AAA and cellphone, too, so no need for the extra weight.

I removed mine...and replaced it with a stock wheel with a tire matching the other four on the vehicle... I also rotate the spare with the rest.

Just thought I'd brag about how great I am.

Oh, and yes the WRX size 17" wheel/tire combo just barely fits in there if you ditch the little storage tray. The flip up cover fits flush.
