Default 08 legacy GT vs 08 WRX buy. Help!!!

Ok guys I need some serious help. Iím looking at a 08 legacy GT and 08 WRX 5 door. The reason Iím in this situation is my girl has a 06-limited wrx and I just bought a 08-limited 5-door wrx. Now sheís jealous and wants something comparable to my 08. The legacy and wrx are the same price. The difference is that the legacy is heavier, faster (245hp) and has the same luxury as her limited 06 (leather, navi/ipod, & larger sunroof). Never driven a legacy before but thatís what Iím guessing. The wrx is only (224hp) but its lighter and performers better. Between me and her we've had all the wrx from the 03 to 08. Slightly modded all of them (normal stuff like hids, full exhaust up and down pipe and suspension) but this time were leaving them as is. We are growing up and it kinda embarrassing to pull up to business meeting or diner with a rumbling drop ride. But itís hard to rid your self of a car that can do 70 on a sharp exit ramp or plow through snow like butter. So we rather have a Subaru then a 328xi bmw (which is slower & awd is not as good). So please help. Which should we chose?

P.s. Sti is not an option. Too much for monthly, we just bought a house so we can only afford one of the two cars.

Way better.

Wait for an 09 WRX, rumor has it more power, better suspension, new grille, gunmetal wheels, and possibly a new aero kit.

legacy or impreza, wait get an 09. 09' legacy's have the harmon kardon sound system in them, and the impreza supposedly are getting upgraded.

Just going on record to say I'd bet money that the 09 WRX will be identical to the 08 and the rumors are just that.

If you are going for the more grown up look, the legacy is the choice. I came from an 04 wrx to an 05 legacy gt. Everytime there was a civic or eclipse, they automatically assumed I wanted to race when I was in my wrx. In the LGT, I dont even get a second look from cops.

But If you really want the hatch, that may be your choice. Just giving my opinion.

this is highly subjective but I'm gonna have to say I agree. Trading in a two year old car for a newer model because you're jealous? You must be rolling in some serious dough or you owe a lot of peple money... It's your cash, spend it however you want and enjoy!

EDIT: the Legacy GT looks the most "grown up" in my opinion. I hate those big red square-shaped lights they put on the rear though.

Yea is alot of money but my GF and I just got a huge change in financial status the last 2 yrs. She graduated last year as a RN and in Boston they pay top dollar for bachelor degree nurse due to the shortage of nurses ( everyone doing the two yrs degree). I do freelance Arch. designs. But anyhow we put 50k on her wrx already in the last year in 1/2 and we have a good offer from my buddy who works at the subaru dealer. So we are really considering it.

Yea I agree on subtleness of the Legacy too cuz I hate the local kids out here revving at me just because they have a "I love JDM" sticker on. But at the same time we love the respect wrx has. New England has a tone of wrx rolling around. So in a day one would give a friendly way to a fellow wrx at least 3 -4 times a day. People with a legacy or forest out here are just getting ignored. Were still young so we want a versatile car that classy but commands respect.

for the same price, take the legacy. Cops barely pay attention, noone knows what your car is. No one revs at you. The trunk is big, the seats fold down, the seats are nicer for daily driving, the car just looks grown up, it can seat big people in the back and the front comfortably. No comparison.

Actually its more of a trim change. The current 08 WRX is being rebadged as the Impreza GT and will only come with an automatic. The 09 WRX is only available in stick, comes with the body kit stock, more power (265hp), and improved the suspension. As a result they're also improving the STI to keep it worth the price by tweaking the suspension a bit and upgrading the power to produce 325hp. In a nut shell they just detuned the 08 STI, slapped on a different body kit, and called it a WRX while tweaking and improving the STI.

Depends on what you're going for? Comfort/luxury or more of a sporty/rally bred car? The LGT will give you a nice mix of luxury and performance. You will get as many looks in the LGT from people wondering what kind of car you are driving as the looks you get in a WRX because of it's large hood scoop.

Discount tire put my new wheels on my LGT Tuesday and the guy came out to look at my car, wrote down the mileage and took note of what he was going to be putting on as far as tires and wheels go. Get back inside and he's like. "so what year is that? It's a Scion right"?
