what are your thoughts on the Tanabe Racing Medalion cat back for the WRX? i really like this exhaust because of the price, looks and how it has a silencer option. i was thinking of a turbo back exhaust, but with all the talk about our dealer, i'm afraid of what they'd say when they see the turbo back.
hows this exhaust set up sound: tanabe Racing medalion exhaust, third cat eliminator and up pipe?

Mike, some dealers are installing turbo back exhaust and uppipes. As for swapping back to stock, to swap the downpipe isn't any harder than doing the rest of the exhaust. The uppipe on the other hand is not.
Tanabe Racing Medallion has that ricey sound. Too high pitch for me. Winslow |

I think you should get a Brullen exhaust. It's probably a little more expensive than the Tanabe, but listen to these sound clips: http://www.imprezars.com/images/brul...ullensound.zip

My MRT Sounds pretty nice, sporty sound
, but not as obtrusive (loud) as Winslow's . Although it's also not quite as deep either. Don't know what it would sound like on the WRX though. (2.0T vs 2.5)Regarding the dealer, so far they haven't mentioned anything, or refused to work on anything. I have yet to be in there with the exhaust, but I still had the Kartboy and a CAI installed the last 2 times. ![]() |

A flat four engine, sounds NOTHING like a inline or V four engine. Our have nice little blurbles and sound manly, compared to Hondas and other cars. But the Tanabe I have heard is loud and sometimes buzzy.
I suggest brullen personally... They have to have some good quality stuffs with your choice of noise levels. RawCode |

With the Tanabe, I don't think it is going to matter which four you have.

It's angled and it may look funny to you but there's a purpose for that angle, less bend on the pipe and straight as possible for more performance.Well maybe not to much performance cause it's only a catback but then again,i haven't installed my zerosports downpipe (full turbo back soon)yeah!!!

Wow, that's pretty! Looks long. It looks like it has a similar design as the TurboXS downpipe except the HKS has a cat in it.

Thats the worst part about exhausts, is that unless someone else has posted sound clips, you usually do not get to hear what it sounds like on your car.
I have still not decided on which exhaust I am going for with my WRX, but I am still waiting to hear a few. Later....Kris |

Mike, that's why you need to buy the Tanabe and show us what it sounds like. Out of all the exhausts I've seen and heard, the BPM has the best quality, sound, and price. I'm still waiting to see and hear the GReddy. Why doesn't anyone buy that too? If you don't like it then sell it. I think Kris told me that money is no object.
