Default 92 Legacy BF/BJ, EJ22T

Hi, i have a 92 legacy wagon with the ej22-t. My tranny just went out. Im aware from reading stickies that just about any tranny will swap, however the turbo tranny uses a different pulley part. Basically im wondering, what trannies can i put in as a direct swap, and just plug and play wiring. I just want to stick another one in, and would like to know my simple options. Thanks for your help! If im re-asking this for the millionth time, please kindly refer.

Try out legacycentral.org. Those folks know how to do just about anything to an early leggy.

To keep it directly plug and play, try and find a rebuilt tranny from a 92-94 turbo, IIRC there are little to no differences. The 91's may have been slightly different.

What pulley part are you referring to?

As long as you match the rear diff, realistically you can use any phase 1 type automatic transmission. All 91-94 turbo legacy auto trans will swap over, as well as all 92-94 n/a legacy auto trans. The 92-94 n/a legacy does have a 3.90 final drive ratio, so the rear diff doesn't have to be messed with. The turbo tranny does have a few extra clutches here or there to improve its power holding capabilities, but the n/a tranny should work just fine.

As it was mentioned, I'd recommend checking out www.bbs.legacycentral.org
