Default A/C troubleshooting sensor issue

So I've got a 93 2.2 N/A Legacy wagon. The A/C used to work quite well on it but it's been acting up. Last night I started troubleshooting it.

It's got adequate freon in the system. All fuses look good. Plugged in the green connectors under the dash and did a voltage check - the compressor clutch is getting voltage while the car is looping through it's diagnostics, so I don't think it's a relay problem..

I did notice a few nights ago that the A/C finally decided to come on after I had been driving on the highway for a good hour or so (driving with A/C off). I had the windows down and decided to check it at a light. Heard the compressor engage, fans kicked on and it blew cold air. Turned it off and a few minutes later I tried it again and the compressor never came back on - blowing warm air.

When I turn on the A/C and it's not working, the fans also do not kick on. This leads me to believe that it's a problem with a pressure/temp sensor somewhere.

My only problem is now I don't have a DIY repair manual for this car. Suggestions? Help?

Try jumpering the pressure switch that's on the receiver drier and see if things work.

Have you checked your system pressure with the car off to make sure you have enough pressure for the compressor to kick on?

Ahh thanks for the suggestion. I didn't know where the switch was! Will try that.

And yes, the car does have sufficient refrigerant in the system. At least on the high/low sides. Could be some sort of blockage... but I'm doubting that.

well I jumped the pressure switch (both circuits) and the fans kicked on steady, but still no compressor engage. I think the pressure switch is alright.

I've got a wiring diagram I'm looking over for the A/C unit, but I can't seem to locate the A/C cutout relay. Suggestions?
