You already sent your heads to the machine shop for the cleaning, pressure checking, etc, but don't have the new valves in there yet? You'll just have to send the heads back for a valve job and pressure checking (again) when you get the new valves.

OEM keepers should be fine, if you bought a full gasket kit it will come with a new set of keepers.

it was pressure check with stock size valves and im replacing them with stock sized valves shouldnt be any different should it. also i might have lost a couple of keepers. i dont know how many there are bc the heads were dissembled at the machine shop. hopefully they gave me everything back, this is my first head job so i dont want to mess it up

Aftermarket valves don't seat at exactly the same angle as the stock ones, so it's a good idea to get a valve job done to match the valve seats with the new valves, then a pressure check to make sure they seat properly.

There are 2 keepers per valve, so 32 total. Like I said before though, if you bought a full OEM gasket kit it will come with 32 new keepers to replace your stock ones.
