04 and 05 are the same. Only that you need to go to cobb's website and download the correct year for your car.

Cobb told me otherwise

Apparently, you need a reflash of the firmware, which is no longer hosted on Cobb's site. I've contact Cobb to see if they'll send me the file though.

I have the firmware reflash program that I used to flash mine from 04 to 05 but I don't know if it works the other way.

I searched and people say that all you needed to do was to download 05 wrx maps into your AP and it should work.

Are you sure they're not talking about AP2? Because the AP2 works works with all the 2.0L engines i think but the AP1 has specific (02/03, 04 & 05) maps for each year.

Don't get me wrong here, I do really want this and hope you're right but I just want to make 100% before I start mucking about with my car's ECU.
