Default Uppipes?

I've come to the conclusion that all uppipes are the same. What uppipes do you prefer and why?

I haven't looked into up pipes, but if they come in different diameters, I'd go for one on the small side. Then get the biggest downpipe you can find. You want the pressure spread across the turbo to be very big so that the velocity of the air going through it will be high. That will help with spool up.

i think the major difference is just price. but some up pipes look better than others, the zero sports one is really nice but really expensive i bet. if i get one it would probably be the vishnu up-pipe, it will probably come along with a Stage 0 i'm thinkking about

The new MRT one has a flex joint, the only different style that I have seen.

Why would you want a pretty up-pipe, you cannot even see the thing unless you climb in the engine bay, or are under the car. But I guess....to each their own.

As for the MRT, they have a flex-joint in their new down-pipe. Do not think the up-pipe could have any flex joints in that one, but I could be wrong, and usually am.

MRT has flex joints in both their uppipes and downpipes. They said they placed flex joints because of possible cracking. Hmmm?

Bungs!!!!!

say it again.

Bung holes!

Ryan: did you get my emails?

Just a suggestion, one of you guys should get some mandrel bends from summit, and have an exhaust shop fabricate one for you and do the welding with the mandrel bends. Im sure the place that sells the upper ic pipe will kindly sell you a Blow Off Valve flange, that way you guys can spend 60 bux to make a full set of IC piping, and start mass producing.

I've thought about doing that and even suggested making our own uppipes to Kris. IC pipes are around $100. There isn't much piping like FMIC.

Those are good ideas, but finding a shop that is willing to do that and would not charge an arm and a leg might be the hard part.

Anyone know of a place that might be able to make custom up-pipes and such?

Alaska Welding and muffler on commercial avenue can do work for 50/hr, might be worth a try.

Might have to check that out. That is where I had the exhaust made for the RS, and I think they do pretty good work.

Thought we would head north and join in here.

NOT ALL UPPIPES are the same.

The difference is in materials, bends, welds, and diameter. None of them are the SAME. We sell lots of different uppipes and have determined that the uppipe chosen by a customer is determined by price, reputation, and performance.

We have had great success with the Perrin Uppipe. Never incurred problems, failures, or performance decrease. In fact all uppipe users (habitual )have had nothing then great things to say. We carry the Perrin, M2, MRT, and could if we chose to the BPM and others. We do offer the Zerosports. All Zerosports parts are some of the best JDM parts available. But that is something most do not buy as it is a SHOW piece and to say, hey I got Zerosports!

We will soon be offering the Vishnu as well. We run the M2 on our car because it is crafted beautifully and simply works!

We have tons available and if you have anymore questions, send us a email!

Was that Dan?

Well, if it was then thank you for your input and gracing us with your presence. Can you give us an idea on the difference in diameter sizes between the brands? I was unaware they came in different diameters.

He has some good points but they are all basically the same in design. The Perrin, M2, BPM, and MRT use a 304 Stainless Steel whereas the Vishnu is constructed from 321 SS.

The Vishnu also has 1/2 inch flanges where the others only have 3/8 inch flanges.

Most of these uppipes have also relocated the EGT bung for better placement or ease of installation.
