Default 98 STI trans will it hold up ?

wondering if a 98 sti trans would hold up to a built moter 600whp+ ? thanks.

Im going to go out on a limb and say probably not. Thats the 5spd non-ra ratios. Are those gears shot peened? If so it will take a little more abuse but I still think 600whp is a lot to ask from that tranny. I would go with a jdm 6spd.

That should be a ver4 or ver5 tranny and no it wont. Swap PPGs into that case and it will.

If you're looking to make that kind of power go talk to a tuner about what kinda setup you NEED, not what a bunch of chumps on the internet THINK you should run.

Thanks folks. this was on the spur of a moment offer to me and didnt know anything about the 98 sti trans. i have just sold my trans and am just going to get a ppg setup. Thanks.
