Default Motor oil suggestions-AXIS STAGE 5

I need some suggestions as to which oil to use. Brand and weight but full synthetic.

I currently use Valvoline VR-1 5w-50 full sunthetic. However during a 3 minute run the oil pressure starts at 82 psi but it decreases during the run and ends up at 63 psi.

The engine is a stage 5 long block done by Axis. Current boost pressure is as low as 1 bar, rev limit at 8300 rpm. Oil pump is JUN.

here is an idea....ask your engine builder. He should be most qualified to answer this question

He suggests SHELL ROTTELA 10W-40, but I'm not sure if this a full synthetic oil.

We don't have Amsoil here.

wht do you mean by "3 minute run"? Do you mean that you perform power pulls on the dyno for 3 minutes at a time??

Correct, shell rotella is regular dino oil, it is not snythetic.
I've tried it, doesnt seem to hold up that well at very high oil temps, but I didnt build your engine.

You have 3 options as this isn't an oil problem, it's your crankshaft causing this.

1. continue to drive the car the same way and it will eventually spin a rod bearing due to low oil pressure at high rpm

2. lower your rev limit down to around 7400 so you don't have as big of a drop in pressure

3. remove the modified crankshaft and put a stock one back in, bam oil pressure problem gone

Perhaps the builder suggested rotella (dyno) oil because your engine is being run in?

DO NOT put synthetic oil in your engine if it has not been properly run in and the rings are bedded correctly.

we are using castrol edge 10-60 RS with all race engines including axis stage5 and it is always give better pressure than others.
for example we compare it with mobil1 motorsport 15-50 and it gives app. 14 psi more pressure at high revs(8000-8500). i know that this oil cant find in US merket but some supra guys import them from Europe to US.
