Default 06 STi cluster problems

I just installed a 06 STi cluster in my 07 wrx, all the wiring is in place, and everything works fine but i was just curious, whenever i shift the light comes on but it doesnt beep when the shift light goes on, shouldnt it beep if anybody can help it would be greatly appreciated!

I believe you have to turn on the beep. With the ignition on but not started. Set the shift light and press the button, it should say "beep" or something. Then you can press one of the 2 buttons to set it off or on.
