Default 2.5i front rotor upgrade

Hey I went and ordered a front kit from RacingBrake, the 2011-111-0 kit...I was originally sent the wrong bracket with the kit and then a new bracket was shipped to me. The new bracket bolts up to the car fine but the slide pins seem to get stuck as well as the pad clip from my stock caliper bracket does not fit inside the new bracket that was shipped (CBS01M).

Black bracket is the OEM and the Red bracket is RacingBrake:

First difference is the OEM bracket has a "nipple" on it that the slide pin boot clips onto, the RB bracket does not...that isn't that big of a deal though:

Here you can see the stock clip does not fit into the RB bracket...that might be because, as I am assuming now, these brackets are for a different pad (D721 instead of D929?):

Stock bracket with stock clip, seems fine lol:

And these are the stock sliding pins...they seem to get stuck in RB bracket (i.e. I'm afraid if pressure is applied the caliper will not slide back out and I'll end up rubbing the pads when not braking)...these last 3 show this:

So does anyone know what kit exactly I would need? I checked these brackets on a 2001 RS coup and they seem fine for that car but it looks like Subaru made some subtle changes in the 05+ cars? My ultimate goal is to keep the front 2pots with larger rotors (which I have the WRX sized 294x24 ones) and I would like to use the Hawk HPS pads (I have the D929 pads which are what my car takes stock so then that means the bracket I would need needs to also be D929, no?)

Any help would be greatly appreciated...I did a search but 2.5i racingbrake yielded almost nothing and most of the RB threads deal with their 4pot kit or their rear H6 which I already did (so far I have the rear H6 upgrade + SS lines + Motul600 fluid...so I'm just missing the bracket for the front and I'm good to go).

Thanks in advance...

It looks like the CBS01M bracket was designed for the D721 pad. Either get a full D721 pad kit with new clips and whatnot, or return it and pickup a 2003-2005 WRX bracket that uses a D929 pad so you can reuse your existing hardware (I'm pretty sure it should fit).

What a coincidence, this is what I suggested to him weeks ago...

Yes, as you can see from the following pictures our bracket for this BBK was designed to retain the use of the original stock setup using D721 pad which has a mounting tab taller by .16" / 4.1mm than the late models.

We would like to clarify that these brackets are not the same.

We have hundreds of satisfied customers installed this upgrade kit and we don't understand why he has the newer model setup (ie. with D929 pad and narrower pad clip).

Just be aware that our bracket is not the same as 2003-2005 WRX brackets as explained above, if he has a late model pad and clip (PD929), we will inform him that he can just return the brackets to us and purchase the correct brackets from Subaru dealer as you suggested.

My comment was based on his profile as well as the thread title, which states that he has a (2007) 2.5i. That means he should currently be using the D929 pad and hardware per the brake info sticky.

I was aware. My point was, he has two options:

1) Use the RB bracket and buy a D721 pad plus the associated hardware.
2) Buy an OEM bracket for the 2003-2005 WRX so the existing pads can be reused.

"recnelis", you were absolutely correct in your suggestions to "zavier". We were just not aware that there are some newer model vehicles that come with the newer pad type (PD929) yet still use smaller size rotors, which made zavier upgrade to a larger rotor. We just added a compatibility description on our web page to avoid this type of mis-application.

Most our OE caliper BBKs are built to retain the integrity of stock set up
in calipers, pads and "one piece" brackets - except the brackets are longer with the curvature adjusted to fit the larger rotor.

Thank you for your help in clarifying the situation.
