Default FS (Northern Indiana): 2004 FXT, 5 spd, 78k miles - $12,500

Well, I started a new thread because I'm taking the FXT back to stock, therefore, dropping the price.

2004 Subaru Forester XT (FXT)

23 mpg lifetime average
78,258 miles
5 speed
2.5L Turbo 4 cylinder
AWD

This car is in great shape and comes with many extra Subaru accessories and options (heated seats, cruise, power everything, cargo nets, cargo visor, heated windshield and mirrors, roof rails, roof bike carrier, and on and on).

Maintenance is all up to snuff. Besides the regular oil changes, no maintenance needs to be done until 100k miles (timing belt). Everything works perfect.

I'm looking to get $12,500 for it.

I'm starting to think the folks here on nasioc don't know what a FXT is. Do you guys realize that the FXT comes from the factory with a 04 STi longblock? Slap on a VF39 and a STi TMIC, and you have yourself a STi motor.

Add in the fact that it comes with 4.444 gears, and you have a mid 12 sec car easy. This is the ultimate drivetrain. This is the drivetrain that should have come on the WRX. Instead, they put it in a station wagon. Go figure.

Why am I selling it? Because I'm cheap. I prefer to drive junk. My wife talked me into buy a nice car, and I finally realized I don't like nice cars. I like beaters.

I think everyone on here knows what a FXT is capable of. It's a great sleeper car if anyone is looking to build one...plus it has great utility. Bump for neat car.

^^Surprisingly, most WRX/STi owners I run into know what a Forester is, but don't have a clue what the FXT is and what it is capable of. Thats why I explained it Thanks for the bump.

^^Great. Thanks for the help. It is truly an awesome car. I don't like the idea of parting with it, but I need to.

I would but the wife would kill me! I go through more vehicles than anyone I know! I like driving something different every year or so, I only had my 04 wrx for 13 months before I sold it.

I'm on a first name basis with the lady down at the BMV I have changed rides so many times

It hasn't been as bad lately. I had my Colt for 2 years, and I've had my FXT for almost 2 years.

^^Nope. I still have both the FXT and the WRX. I think I'm going to hold onto the WRX, but the intent was to sell one and keep the other.

I see! well good luck with either one of them, kinda hard to sell anything right now around here as everybody is trying to sell anything they have loans on to get out from under that payment since about 1/2 of the local economy is unemployed it seems!

No doubt. Elkhart is the epicenter of this economic meltdown. I think unemployment is up around 10% now.

I'm really not all that concerned about selling anyhow. I'm probably just going to keep both. I was hoping to sell one to pay off medical debt, but as it turns out, I nearly have it paid off. So there goes my reasoning
