Default Are our cars AWD in reverse?

I ask this because i was camping and i tried to go in reverse in some wet grass and my front tires just spun as i sat there. Im hoping that nothing is damaged to the center diff and my awd is just toast...

I tried launching my car in some rain going up hill and i had some significant front wheel spin as well.

My car sounds fine and im not hearing any banging or grinding noises as i drive....some sqeaking sounds, but i think those are just from the rear sway or something minor.

Well, the most important piece of information in this thread would be the type of car you drive. . .

haha i lol'ed when i read that question. Yeah its still AWD in reverse. The wheel spin was probably a result of your open front diff and weak limited slip function in the rear diff, completely normal all the power just goes right to the spinning front wheel. If you get stuck like that again try putting a little pressure on the brake with your left foot while you give it gas at the same time. This will put some resistance on the spinning tire kind of act like a limited slip differential and let you transfer power to the other wheels.

Just for giggles I'll throw in this story. I once had my car completely high-centered in a snow bank with the vehicle in reverse gear, and myself standing outside of it watching as 3 out out 4 tires just slowly spun around. (No front LSD ftl...) I thought it was funny, anyway.

the center diff is a vlsd not a locked unit, it will allow the front wheels to spin pretty well
