Post Technical Service Bulletins (TSBs)

Does anyone know any source to locate TSBs for Imprezas other that NHTSA's website? The NHTSA site only has a few TSBs listed and I have heard at least "rumors" of others such as the infamous clutch pressure plate problems with some 99s, etc. If anyone knows how to get these from Subaru or elsewhere that would be great ammunition for the difficult dealer.

There is a SB on the front half shaft seals at the tranny. Well on my MY00 RS that is. My seal were linking not too long ago. The dealer replaced the seals. Another friend of mine is having the same problem. I told him to go in ASAP.

I noticed it on my car when I started smelling burning tranny fuild. I look at the left side and saw that it linked down the side of the tranny and onto the header.

I also have a 00 RS 5-speed. Was the SB on auto or manual transmissions? Also, where did you find out about the SB?

this has been goin on since i got my car and even before that. i got mine fixed here no prob. but now it has come back. i need to take it back again. anyway. if i-club is dealing with subaru like i read a while ago maybe i-club can get something done about this problem as a good faith think between us and subaru. instead of subaru saying its our fault. thousands of ppl can't be wrong or at fault.

I've had emails from people with problems getting the pressure plate issue resolved. I have given out my service order # etc. to them as confirmation that Subaru will do something about it.

Now that said, your symptoms may be different. My shudder was very very severe when cold, and you could take your foot off the clutch and be driving along and the pressure plate would still be sitting there banging away!!!

FYI:

Here is the NHTSA website link where you can perform a search for TSBs and recalls. If anyone knows of any other database, let me know.

Not all recalls are national wide (thou I think most are). The most recent recall of Fords (for ignition problems) is CA only, and because of this I have heard Ford isn't taking it seriously.
