Thumbs up

PA to NYC to Louisiana, Texas, New Mexico to LA, then PCH / 1 to San Francisco and then back to PA! Oh yeah! all in my 2003 WRX! Great time! Drove the return San Fran to PA flying solo!!!

Used to also drive LA to SF on the weekends to hang with my lady! Night runs with the radar/lazer and Speedo at an average of 100! Good times... gotta love driving for stuff like this!! ...or well be a little nutz!

Well you know its not that comfortable (for sleeping that is) but a few naps in the **** pit was okay!!

My longest trip is from NJ to AZ and back, about 2400-2700 miles. Takes about 36 hours
Slept in the car a lot of times. Its somewhat comfortable, especially when your just tired, but that's probably because I am a little short.

The spousal unit and I took a trip from Seattle to Yellowstone National Park last summer in the STi (with the RE070s on). It was a blast! We averaged 25 MPH Whoot!!! I actually let her drive for a few hundred miles. One time when I was driving she woke up and said, "how fast are we going?", and I said 85... She said it feels pretty smooth and went back to sleep... The car lost power in the park and it took me a while to figure out that it was because we were at 9,000 feet altitude...

We stopped at her parents house in Victor MT. on the way back for a few days. I took the opportunity to spend 5 bucks at a car wash scrubbing the bugs off the front of my car Yuck!!!!

Great trip, all things considered, the STi ran like a Swiss watch all the way there and back, a little over 2K miles.

Don't let anyone tell you STis are uncomfortable on long trips...

IN to NJ to GA to IA in my WRX with my girlfriend.
IA to NY to GA to IA in my LGT by myself.

Those aren't my only long trips (I average 30K+ miles a year) but those are the longest for each car.

I've slept in both cars (I'm 6'4", 275#) and they're both pretty comfortable.

About 100 miles.

I bought my Subie last March, tore a ligament in my back last June, and since then long stints in the car bother my back. So for road trips, I have been renting cars.

On the positive side, it keeps the highway miles, highway bugs, highway stone chips, and hotel parking lot door dings off my Subie!

I didn't drive, but my suby made a trip from Ocala, FL to Indianapolis, IN for the US F1 Gran Prix. That was not this past year but a couple years back. That was when it was my dad's car.

In my STi I've done 900 miles in one day solo, and 1,300 miles in a weekend doing about 70% of the driving.

It's not the worst car to do long trips in, but it sure as hell isnt the best ether.

I think it'd have to be Sioux Falls, to Minneapolis, to Indy and back to see an F-1 race a few years ago. I got about 35 mpg while driving 65 through Illinois which was pretty neat.

800 miles round trpi to northern michigan. Not fun being the only driver + unsupportive, flat, hard seats + no sound deadening for listening to music. Atleast the roads were smooth.

I probably have most everyone beat...

WA to TX through CA, NV, AZ, NM, then back the same way to WA to pick up the fam,
then out to SC via the same route back through CA, NV, AZ, NM, TX, OK, AK, TN. About
two weeks worth of driving, but it was a crap load of fun. Especially through the hills in
AZ, eastern TN and western NC.

From Philly to Fort Benning GA in my old wagon. Highways down, then a fun detour somewhere on the TN/NC border on the way home. Good times.
