Default Gumball 3000 1st stop Los Angeles

I found out recently the Gumball 3000 was beginning this year in San Francisco and making the first stop of the rally in LA. I've followed the rally for quite a few years now, and I'd like to be a part of it in some way in the future. Anyways when I heard it was coming to LA I had to check it out. I took a few snaps...

^ I didn't see any. There was an EVO X and a couple of other japanese cars, but that was about it...

the cars were exceptionally baller... the majority of the cars were ferrari 360's or 430's and 911 turbos... then a handful of Rolls, a maybach, a few Lambos... etc.

Is it me or has the amount of advertising around the rally increased to a rather insane amount? Do they actually even do the rally or just cart the cars around?

This years entry fee was 60,000 sterling pounds which = $115,000 usd.

That got your car, yourself, and your passenger registered for the rally. Additional people are $40,000 each. Support car/mechanic vehicle is $10,000 but they do not get hotel rooms, or access to the parties.

woo!

It takes a load of money to put something on like this. I mean they closed off the main tourist street in LA... that's not cheap. It's also not cheap to fly all the cars over to Asia to complete the rally to Beijing. They definately do the rally. They are running from SF to LA to SD to LA, then over to asia to do a route from North Korea to Beijing. So what's wrong with having Puma and other companies chip in on the check?
