This weekend besides weekend house crap that I finished, I also got work done onthe BAJA...
Installed the STi Intercooler... pain in the butt without my fathers shop to work out of. Also It would have been better if I had the OEM BPV hose from an STi instead of the Ebay X02 racing hose that did not fit so I adapted the OEM BAJA BPV hoses to fit with the X02 hose... 710 fluid change.... annoying random whiff of oil smell and no wet filter or drain plug / pan.. ugh hate that feeling. Now for the QUESTION in this thread. I installed the two heated mirrors and the switch. The passenger side works like a charm, hence forth the switch does too! However the drivers side does not. Is there a procedure to test it, maybe just replace the glass / element part? It took me forever to find a mica black pair of mirrors... anyone???

could you swap the mirrors??? like just plug in the drivers mirror on the passenger side and see if you get it to power up over there?

Use a volt meter, verify you're getting voltage to the pins.

I can tell you how to do it with a junk yard seat. I did mine for hardly any money then i sold what was left. Don't do this without hearing me out... |

I have the lights and mirrors done. Seat will be ordered next paycheck. I might do the lighted ignition ring, then I'll have all the turbo options :-D btw Jeff, the computer is built. However now the real fun has been trying to get a workable front end interface. I'm toying with roadrunner right now. It's gonna take a lot of work to make it look clean. I also might have to send the xenarc head unit back to see if they'll fix it. Lots of software bugs still, and the front pre-amp outputs have zero volume. :/ Last edited by steven765; 08-17-2008 at 02:49 AM. |

talk to me about the lights... I know they look different but what about wiring and is there a difference in seeing with them at night?

You mean the head light swap for the 4 beam? It was caaaake, just order the 4 beam ones where ever you can find them cheapest. I then went and bought watertight automotive connectors, cut the factory, put mine on, snapped them in.. you're good to go! They're both 3 wire, you just have to map them out. Voltmeter will do. I can go find the colors if you really ask nicely.
They look great, the 4 beams look far more aggressive then the 2. I haven't cleared them yet. I still debate the safety factor of doing so as the orange is meant to shine the light back over the corner. I also like the vision pattern more. With the 4 beams I was able to replace everything up front with the real orsama bulbs from europe, not the overpriced silverstar's. So it could be a combination of both. |
