Default True pressure testing of the IC and manifold....A trick

Its hard and a pain in the ass.

Originally I was using a tube with a tire inflater thingy that I would install into the intake POST turbo. Then I would hook up the air compressor and "inflate" the system.

The good? The really OBVIOUS leaks will show up. But think about it. A BigAssTurbo moves a ****load more air than a compressor, even when all the valves are closed, so the secret problem leaks seldom show up. So thats the BAD, the leaks you have actually on boost, never show up. This is cause the actual cylinders DO leak some, no matter what.

So..... I made a plug for the throttle body tubing. ie I pulled the piping off the throttle body and blocked up the entire IC piping network. Now I was able to pressurize and HOLD pressure in ALL of the IC tubing/MAF/supercharger/BOV/IC piping connections. And suddenly all the secret leaks showed up. The BOV was leaking at its base, the blow through MAF was leaking out the top, the welded up supercharger intake was leaking at two weld points, and there was one annoying IC pipe connection leak.

And I was able to take care of ALL of them!

MAP or MAF, it doesnt matter if there are leaks!

While I was kidding, it does actually matter.

small pre-throttle leaks on a MAP system don't really affect performance. I can take my intercooler piping completely off and my car runs just fine. My IAC isn't even plumbed into my intake piping.

Unless the leak is large enough that you're losing pressure through it, it won't significantly affect anything.
