Default Anyone have experience with the v7 jdm sti motor?

I'll be doing a v7 swap into my 2001 2.5rs, and I have a few questions.

I want to do a huge turbo (also not sure of size), rotated mount and everything, but I couldn't find anything on the strength of the stock internals. I don't have the money to do the swap with upgraded internals and big turbo, just one or the other.

Will the stock engine support 500crank hp? I'd also like to keep the redline past 8000rpm if that helps.

Any information would help me out, as it's obvious I'm ill informed about a lot of things. I'd also like to be as conservative in boost as possible to achieve the said power level on the stock engine.

Keep saving your money,... There are always tons of odds and ends that will kill you finacially during these big swaps. I think most of the V7 motors can safely be pushed to around 450 with the 8k redline. Going beyond that you would be wise to start upgrading internals. Look for members Mikhaust and dug-e-fresh as they have alot of experience with these swapped setups.

I swapped in a ver.8 EJ207 and ran it hard for 3 years with a gt35r (big turbo). I recently had to pull the motor cause of cracked ring lands (pistons). So it can be done, just a matter of time till you hurt it.

The v7 has the stronger pistons they are aleady forged from the factory. But they are becoming very rare. I have been waiting on mine for quite some time now.
