Tapps is off Merivale @ Cleopatra? I don't think that I can get
away from work. Too Bad.

FWIW, a friend had his new 255HP Maxima done there. He was
disappointed to get 199. I haven't spoken to him lately about
why it was so low (HP overated?, Dyno wrong, ????). Over 20%
loss for a FWD car is kind of suspicious.

Good Luck!

Hey guys,

I am from Montreal and know nothing of this company. They have a 4 wheel dyno? What do they charge per hour?

Thanks

AFAIK there are no 4WD dynos in Canada yet. Take the car to Lachute Subaru and in about 2 hours they can swap your centre diff for one that turns your car into a FWD. You dyno that and then swap the original diff back in to drive it.

Have you changed location? No longer at the end location?

Actually there are a couple, but they are not open to the public,
which basically amounts to the same thing. It is looking pretty
promising that there will be one in Toronto sometime this
summer and there are rumours of another one gong in out west
in Vancouver as well.

210RWhp is the best I saw. If the stock unit has 185 at the wheels then that's 42hp drivetrain loss so 252hp with Tom's car. I may also note that Ben fixed the high EGT problem.

Well, after 9 hrs labour with lachute, 150 bux to tapp, a full day of driving and eating ****ty take out food; i got tuned. Everything went as planned, except me getting lost twice. Strapper her to the dyno and gave er the gears. FIrst pull was 190, we eventually got it up to 210whp with 15pds of boost and tuned saftly and with good det margins. Car runs very strong as it should. My egts barely get over 1500 and only for a second in third now, i have better mpg and its faster. Knock corretion averages about 8 degrees or so. From what im told wrx's generally dyno at 175 at the wheels stock,so this is a healthy bump. Im sure im hitting 215whp, my tires are oversized in diamter, i read somewhere that makes a slight difference. But i dont really care. We could of gone more, but i felt their was no need for more power. I have dyno sheets, but i forgot them in ottawa! SO LETS SAY 215hp, 210 torque over the board. I got boost at 2800 and full at 3100. Im not sure what that translates into crank hp, but im guessin 250ish - 255ish. I dont know how much i lose to drivetrain. It was also dyno'd in rwd

although if that equates to 255, then maybe i lost the 5 hp from my tires.

I was told that the guys at Tapp Auto are the authorized Unichip tuner for Porsche. So, they know what they are doing and looks like they are really good (they out-tuned Shiv in this case, right?). Great to have such resource locally!

Wonder if they will ever invest in a 4 wheel dyno...

Well it turns out I was a bit misinformed, i thought their were some map changes made but i guess not, their were only slight ones made. But not 10hp worth.. I spoke with shiv today, he called lachute and they told him all was good. I dont mean to slanderize or dicredit shiv. But if no maps were changed than im kinda a dumbass .... Turned out my first run was at 14 psi. You really do have to watch what u post, in my case the first run wasnt really a good one. So dont bother with it. Vishnu has been nothing but helpful, they respond quickly and are always willing to help. A HUGE THANKS to shiv, joel, ben and julian. I just wanted to set the record straight.

Just curious how you dynoed on a 2 wheel dyno. Did you change the center section?? If so how long did that take and where did you get it from?? Did you use Tapps wide band O2?? If so what were the AF ratios at WOT??
Thanks
Rick
