my bugeye is gone

Default

FEELER: I'm thinking about selling my Aspen White '03 bugeye. I've had it since December 12, 2002 and it has 44k miles (just hit it today actually). The car has only been driven 2 times in snow and has spent the last 4 years in Arizona at school with me and was always garaged. The car has literally never been to a track or raced (a lot of people claim it but this car has NEVER been raced). This was my first new car and I've always babied it and still do. If you don't have anything nice to say please do not litter my thread. I will list below what comes with the car. $16,000. Thanks for looking.

The car will be sold with:
TurboXS/Hyperflow FMIC w/ turbo XS intake
HKS Hi-Power stainless exhaust
HKS downpipe
Perrin up-pipe
Ecutek Reflash
Kartboy Short Shifter w/ bushings
Perrin Crank Pulley
Apex-i turbo timer
Apex-i rev/speed meter

These parts will be available for part out if I do decide to sell the car. If you are interested you can call dibs incase I do sell it. I'm still working on prices so hang tight if you're interested. If someone needs an item shipped to them they are responsible for the shipping.

JDM Headlights- $750
JDM STi grill
18x7.5 Work Emotion CR-Kai Bronze w/ Falken Azenis RT615's 225/40/18- $1200
STi Brembo's up front with Brembo slotted Zinc Rotors, Stainless lines $850
Painted Side Skirts
Tein SS coilovers- $650
Cusco rear strut bar w/ v-brace
Cusco rear sway bar 22mm 3 way adjustable
Perrin Endlinks
Cusco Front Strut bar
Defi BF EGT, Boost, and Oil Pressure with the control box (white)-$650
JDM v7 STi door cards-$350
STi rear seat-$180
Sparco Harness bar

I will try to get updated pictures and I will also take pictures of items at people's request. Once again this is still a FEELER but you can let me know if you are interested so you can have dibs on a certain item incase I do decide to sell the car soon.

I have Sparco Torino's in the car (as you can see in this pic) but I plan on keeping them for those who are wondering.

Thanks a lot!! I am hopefully going to be looking at an Audi A4 2.0T Quattro. I've got other issues that I have to take care of so I really just need to sell this, I know I won't be able to not mod. a car haha so I figure I'd go easy on an Audi, just wheels and lower it. You've seen my brothers VW, something like that (actually less than his he's got a lot of work done).

WRX>Audi....reliabilty wise, but you probably know that. Good luck with the Audi.

I'd keep the WRX or upgrade to 09..

My family has had nothing but Audi's and VW's and we have not had any problems with any of them, they've all been real reliable. I know a lot of people say the same thing over and over about Audi/VW with their problems but I can't say we've ever experienced them. Plus you can't really beat a 6yr/100,000 mile warranty on all used cars...
The '09 Subarus are all hideous if I was going to stay with Subaru I'd just keep my car, but this thread isn't about what I'm looking at possibly getting. Thanks for looking.

Hey not trying to be mean just stating what's out there off of KBB website...which any buyer would do as well:

Excellent $14,795
Good $13,955
Fair $12,845

You have retail price up on your OP but these are the private party values with every box I could think of checked off. Unfortunately, it may be very hard to sell your car at $18K.

I would recommend parting out so you at least make some of the money back from that $10K you have in mods. I had a similar situation with my old bugeye...actually had less miles and about as many mods. I just set a day that I would go back to stock and had all my buyers there to grab their stuff and pay for it (give me their stock stuff if I needed it). Ended up working out not bad as I made up about 70% of my original purchase price in mods. Then I sold the car closer to stock for $15K. Most of the mods you have aren't hard to take off. Hell the JDM lights and the FMIC will make you like a grand right there.

Just some food for thought as you are putting up a "feeler" here.

Thank you I appreciate it and that's what I have been considering now after looking at the prices of other peoples cars and seeing what people are buying bugeyes for. I'm not going to just give my car away to someone but you're right if that's the value and someone's not going to give me what I want then I'm better off parting it out and letting them find out how much parts really cost so that will most likely be the plan.

I think with the car private party at 15 and 3500 for over 10k worth of parts, thats a huge deal but if people dont want to jump on that you might as well make about 2-3k more parting it.

This is just what he can expect people to offer him for his car not the actual value. The value is what was stated above, but will prob be offered this price range you posted. Atleast thats my understanding of KBB.

He's gonna get offered the KBB price...should be at excellent.

Straight up...no one is gonna pay you at what you REALLY SHOULD get because either:

1. They are getting it financed and banks will only finance at those prices...they won't take into account mods.
2. Most other buyers go by the adage that mods don't add value to the car.
3. Some people believe that mods actually bring down the value because its a sign that the car was driven hard and had non-trained people working on it.

It sucks. I say try to sell the car "as is" at $18K...you never know you might get a bite...it's a REALLY NICE bugeye! If it doesn't sell then part out as much as you can and have extra money in hand to buy your rims on your Audi.
