Going stage 2, which downpipe?

I currently have a cobb accessport and an HKS hi-power catback (up for trade if anyone is interested) and i am looking to go stage 2.

I cannot decide however on catted or catless downpipe, the smell of catless does not bother me I am just worried about a catless being too loud and thus making my car even more of a cop magnet.

How much louder is a catless downpipe than a catted (ex: cobb's downpipe with high flow cat vs HKS or invidia catless)?

Well you already have one of the loudest cat-backs available, so adding a downpipe will make it that much louder. Catless compared to catt'ed is a significant difference in sound also. If cops are an issue in your area, I would pay the extra couple bucks and go catt'ed with the HKS exhaust or drop the HKS and go with something quieter and go catless. I live in Richmond, VA and the cops here are complete ass's when it comes to exhaust tickets. However my catless Borla Hush exhaust never got me harassed by the po-po.

I actually just went stage 2 myself in my 07 STI yesterday and have the SPT 3" cat-back paired to a Crucial Racing downpipe and cat-less midpipe. Very quiet in both sound and apperence so I'll be surprised if I get harassed with this combo also. My first cat-back was the HKS Carbon Ti and I had to sell it because the tickets were amounting to more than the exhaust was brand new.

is noise the only consideration in your decision? Go catted if it is. Not only will it be slightly louder, catless tends to make more "pop" sounds that can attract bad attention.
