Default JDM STI ECU: What pin is "Ignition Switch?"

Hi,

I am wiring up an 02 JDM STI engine in a 98 2.5RS. I have the service manual for the rest of world (not japan) STI from that year. I also found a site online that has the pinout from the JDM STi but its not an official document.

The question is, which pin on the ECU is from the ignition switch?

The service manual says B134 pin 14. But the other document says that is the "Test Mode Connector" and that the wire is orange. Another inconstancy is that service manual has "Test mode connector" as pin 5 on B134 and the other doc does not list a connection but has the wire color as green/red.

If you have the service manual or the "Engine Control Module (ECM) I/O Signal" section of the manual (English preferred but Japanese is OK too) that would help me a lot.

Some information about the donor car.

Model: GDBA4EH
Engine: EJ207DW3CR
Transmission: TY856WB1CA

Thanks a lot.

134 pin 5 is power from the fuse box going to the fuel pump relay, ecu and coils. Pin 14 is the test mode which would go to the orange test mode wire coming off of your ECU.

Thanks a lot. That makes sense. I wanted to check before I put 12V where it wasn't supposed to be.

One last question, Is B135 pin 9 (Sensor power supply) an input or an output?

Thanks a lot for your help.

I belive thats how the engine sensors get power from the ECU, so its an output.

It's a 5V power supply for the sensors.

Orange = Test Mode Connector
Green/Red = Ignition switch.

Oil could have seeped into the seals due to the engine sitting for a while. Drive around for a few days then check to see if it is still burning oil. If so...

Just thought I post an update on the oil issue. Turns out that either the car was rolled or the clip was placed on its side at some point so there was oil in the heat sheilds and that was burning off. So, no majors problems with oil.

Hi,

The STi addendum is here:
http://pdftown.com/PDF-Subaru-Imprez...ce-Manual.html

and the Wrx service manual is here:
http://pdftown.com/Impreza-WRX-2002-Service-Manual.html

Also, I found the 2004 manual here
http://pdftown.com/PDF-Subaru-Imprez...ce-Manual.html

All of them have the wiring diagrams. I think they are for the European spec impreza but 99% of the wires are correct. I used them to wire my car. For the rest, I pumped this site through google translate.

http://impreza.pekori.jp/gdb_tuning/gd_tuning34.html

It requires some interpretation, but the information is there.

What are car are you starting with and what are you putting in it? I can help you out if you need.

Hi,

Sorry, I don't know where to find an E/F pinout. The diagrams above were what I used with my GDB-A. Some of the wires that I wasn't 100% sure about I traced by hand. It was a pain, but worth it.
