Post Digads!! What's meesa doin? I just spent $29 on gas!!

$2.05 for Premium! Oh when will it end??!!?? There's apparently no reason for the price hike other than more profit! At least that's the latest I hear. And don't reply saying, why don't I use regular 87 octane. No Way!I only use 92. And so what? Even 87 is at $1.85! Where was this you ask? Mobil on corner of Redhill/MacArthur in Irvine..... (sigh)....
Gotta fly!

I suppose it's probably useless to try and explain to you that 92 octane isn't "better" for our engines?

You can try all you want I don't care what you say. My car runs considerable smoother with better acceleration with 92 octane. I ran 87 and 89 all the time before and my GTech consistently showed 0-60 times of 8.2-8.9 stock. 2 weeks after switching to 92 octane, I got 7.5-7.9 EVERY TIME. Now with my minor power mods (exhaust, K&N, intake), I'm getting 6.9-7.1 consistently.

Yer all wimps. ;-)

I just filled up at 2.09 for Premium (WRX here, don't got a choice) and that was an independent - the chains are as high as 2.19.

If I wanted to save on gas, I'd bought an Insight. ;-)

Oh yeah, I guess I can take comfort in knowing that them SUV owners will be paying well over $60 to fill up their tanks! Doh! My mother drives an SUV! Poor mom.... I think that refinery fire was a publicity stunt, to deflect the real reason for the price hike. Mobil/Exxon reported a 44% increase in sales in the last quarter, if they keep that rate up, the will be debt free by next quarter. (sniff, sniff).... both supply and demand is the same so far, yet the prices are still climbing...(sniff, sniff)...smells like green greed to me.... Ah well....
Anyway,
Gotta fly!

Oh boo hoo. You're voluntarily using premium gasoline, even though it is not required for your engine, just so you can get a 1 second increase in a 0-60 sprint...and then you're complaining? Do you floor it at every stoplight? You've got to pay to play.

If you get upset about paying more, just imagine the Excursion or Suburban owner seething at the pump while paying ridiculous amounts of money to get around...that always brings a smile to my face

Your fuel seems soooo cheap..

$2.24 for premium downtown Chicago. Why our prices are worse than most of the rest of the country is beyond me. I think we need national standards. Get the people in less expensive areas to pay a bot more and even things out.
Wait a minute... I'm not a socialist..?

Well, I'm driving a '95 Blazer til my WRX gets here, and I had the "pleasure" of filling up at $1.95 a gallon today. Not a lot of fun, considering my car gets only about 15 mpg in town.

At times like these it makes me glad i bought a bike as well. 48MPG, 0 - 60 acceleration in the 4 second range, still fun in the twisties and i can drive to work all week on $5 of gas.
