Unhappy i'm not to happy with my car right now

has anyone had a problem with their power windows? i was driving home from the dentist(so i was in a great mood already) and when i rolled my window down i heard a loud clicking sound when the window got all the was down. i figured it couldnt have been to good so i went to roll it up . it got about half way up and decided that it was comfortable there so that is where it stayed. now its stuck and i have to leave my car outside tonight with a rolled down window. whoo hoo. anyways i just had to vent thanks.

The regulator probably broke... it's happened to many people I know of, and it's not a Subaru-specific problem. Those things seem to break all the time- probably keeping whoever makes them in business .

Be glad your window is 1/2 way up. My parent's old '89 Grand Caravan lost the regulator a couple of times, and the window would just drop like a rock.

Bummer that it has to stay outside though.

Default Same here

my window makes a clunk as well. Still goes up and down though. It almost stopped and then a piece of rubber rollued up with it, but it made the window roll up/down faster. still has the clunk. taking it to dealer tomorrow. will give an update.

edit: UPDATE: dealer called nad said i would need a new regulator. Dont know how much or how it will work. Not covered under warrenty, but would have been if i had extended warenty. Should be a cheap fix. I'll post another update tomorrow.

Open your door, push your hands against the window from both sides getting a good grip, and push up. Maybe have someone push the window up button while you do it.

Window regulator and /or motor is bad or needs adjustment. Should be a quick fix at the dealer (before spring break)
, or by anyone that has fixed one before...

Update on window. Not much to update, but the mech was able to adjust the window so it rolls up correctly and makes a good seal. No more pinhhole airflow commin in. Sooner or later I am going to have to fix/get a new regulator but it works OK for now. Lets hope i dont have to use the sunroof for tolls in the future.
