Some tips on rear bushings...
The kartboy outrigger bushings work (small-thick on bottom, large-thin on top). The 08+ kartboy rear subframe bushings (4 large-thick) fit to mount the subframe in place. The 08+ whiteline diff bushing inserts work with a tiny bit of trimming on the sides of the lower insert piece. ![]() ![]() Yes, thats an R180 with them. The rear TIC trailing arm bushings are a direct fit after removing the old bushings and sleeves. ![]() The front TIC trailing arm bushings work with some major modifications. The sleeves need to be drilled out for the larger bolts (machine shop took care of no problem). Also, the overall bushing width is too large. I needed to cut down the bushing and sleeve by 1/4 inch. I took 1/8 inch off the outside of each bushing and 1/4 off the sleeve. Bushing installed not cut down, tightened fully, not enough threads engaged. ![]() Bushing and sleeve cut down. ![]() Installed and tightened down after cutting. Nut is fully engaged on bolt thread this time. ![]() And the whiteline lateral links bolt in. The swaybar mounts will give me something for a custom 3 piece swaybar to mount to easily and give more room for tires inward (the OEM swaybar is very close to the rear tires). ![]() Last edited by TireIron; 11-09-2012 at 12:18 AM. |

That is good to know on the rear diff inserts. I haven't even tried them yet on the SVX. |

These should also work on the older legacy and impreza diffs with the same style bushing for those who don't want to fight and do the superpro bushings (will be a very tight fit and require even more trimming). The superpro bushings for the older legacy and impreza however DO NOT fit the SVX diff crossmember, which is why I went with this solution. The SVX diff bushing has a larger diameter and is thicker than the legacy and impreza bushing. The only bushings that were really a problem were the trailing arm forward bushings. Having the sleeve machined out for the 14mm bolt was not an issue, but realizing after I had everything installed that the bushing was overall too thick and having to take it all back apart and trim things down was very tiring at the end of the day when it was getting dark and cold. Knowing ahead of time should save someone else some time if they try and install them in the future I hope. A razor knife worked well for trimming the 1/8 inch off each bushing half and my chop saw made quick work of the 1/4 inch off the crush sleeve. Who knows, TIC may even make a couple sets this way and throw them on the shelf and list them up for those who can't modify them on their own. After all, they only list 1 product on their site that fits the SVX, when there are plenty more that do thanks to subaru reusing designs. ![]() |
