More likely a bad wheel bearing, not a bad axel. GC's were known to do this.

Good luck.

Would I have play in the wheel if the wheel bearing crapped out?
I'm pretty sure it's the rear passenger axle, I'll grab one from Lordco (since no one is replying that they have a spare to sell me) and replace in the next few days and see.

i have 2 fronts but not rears... like james said, most likely wheel bearings... an axle doesn't really make a 'train' noise when it goes... it will click when turning.

Who ya talkin' bout Zefy?

I believe the cause of the bad wheel bearing is due to the type of grease packed into the bearing from the factory. It is too light of a weight, and can leak out of the bearing causing increased friction, wear, and the "train noise" that you describe.

I believe you have to remove the axel to press the bearing out anyway. You'll have to either replace the bearing or press the old one out and press the new one in if the axel has worn out. Looks like the axel is coming out anyway so you'll be able to have a good look at it anyway.

Good luck.

Thanks for all the help guys.
I'll disassemble first and assess the damage before buying parts.
