Grr. My check engine light came on this morning a couple minutes after I started the car. Feels completely fine to drive, no knocking...dumb weather induced electronic failures. I'll pull the code tonight after I get back from work and we'll see what it's doing.

If you need to, you can borrow my OBD-II scanner.

I should be on-campus tomorrow by about 8 or 8:30 AM. I'll be there 'till about 2. Let me know, and we can hook-up.

It's just a very basic code-scanner, though, nothing fancy.

No Thanks, buddy. I have a AP, and I checked that it was 300 and 304...multiple misfires. Happened about 30 seconds after starting the car, so I'm praying that it was either the ****ty (I"m told by some Cobb people) gasoline I put into the tank (BP 93) or the extreme cold caused the plugs to stick. Or something plausible like that :P

REset the code and drove home for 10 minutes without a hitch.

EWWW don`t use BP gas... Whens the last time you changed your plugs? Its never a bad thing! I would of suggested doing it before your tune though and went one step colder!

Ran BP gas when it was only available but lost gas mileage 92oct middle of nowhere. Running Shell V-powwow all the way :0. Anywhere in Cleveland besides your garage that I can go to change my oil myself? Suby dealerships runs regular and Quik lube shops charge same price and I would have to bring in Mobil 1 if I wanted that in the car. Damn I miss living near a military installation. No work till Tuesday so I'll be down to go learn to snowboard

Hope you're fine, too.

I try to stick only with the gas-station I know that has good gas - the Shell over by the Caddy dealership off Chagrin has been pretty consistent in having good-quality V-Power, over the last 3 years or so that I've consistently used them.

VVVV-power is what I like to use too....one time I didn't have a choice and went with a discount "virk mart" habib gas and started knocking and cel came on about five mins after leaving there. never again, shell only. once i get my car back i'm gonna have to try the sunoco, they don't have those back home in indiana.

^ "Which specific station," apparently, matters, too..... The Shell over by David Buschur's shop is horrible - the tuners who go there will tell everyone to top-off their gas elsewhere, or otherwise expect heavy knocking.

I've only gotten "skunked" gas two or three times (knock-light goes crazy, IAM actually drops), over the last 3 years, at the Shell over by Park East, so that's what I consistently use.

For some reason, after I treat my car to Sunoco 94 and go back to Shell's 93-octane V-power, I get enough knock to pull my IAM down for just a tad, and then the car works its way back to equilibrium.

I can't explain it.

I get the same thing whenever i treat mine to gas city's 103 octane (instantanious cel ) then go back to the v-power. I agree with sticking to one gas station. If I'm gonna run out before i can make it back, i'll only put in like 5-7 bucks (2-3 gals) just enought to get me back...

I think that you gotta stick to the shells that move alot of v-power, like around ritzy 'hoods, lots of benzies, beemersl, caddies, and such.....
stay away from ghetto 93/premium gas..... i think it tends to sit there for a long time. who gets premium gas in the ghetto anyways??

I'm having issues with them right now. I ordered a stage 2 braking setup and was billed on 2008/12/10. They said they were waiting for some stainless brake lines to come in and it would ship the next week... called last night (2009/01/14) and it was "shipping tonight". Claimed I would get a tracking number by email... never did.

Edit: It's 2009... doh!

FYI I talked to cosco. I`m not sure who all in here is a member. They get their 93 from either shell or sunoco. Whoever is cheaper when they need it. And it is HELLA CHEAP! I can get premium there for less or equal that everyone else is paying for regular! It paid for my membership in like 3 fillups! Let alone the savings in gas and everything!
