Got home yesterday, and I just couldn't resist washing Winky.

It's been so long, I thought I had a gray car.

Nice to see that wonderful ABP color, again.

Still on the winter tires....

I really need to paint my rear calipers (still stock) and also detail my interior. I keep thinking I'll one day do the Rotora rear BBK, too, though, so I keep putting that one off, but boy could the interior use a good once-over!

My interior, while quite "immaculate" my most others' standards, is quite dusty and needs a good cleaning too. And my rear bumper has been violated and needs to be painted.

Find a set of used/donor struts to hack up. This way, you can take your time.

Let things settle for several days and get a performance alignment.
Use spring compressors.
If you don't have an impact gun, buy/use a strap wrench to ensure your don't twist the strut shaft while torquing the top nut on strut mount.
The Konis are a bit noisier than the stock struts: they make a "whoosh" or "psssh" sound as they compress and rebound.
Depending on your springs, a good starting setting for the Konis is 1/2 to 3/4 turns from full soft. (I like 3/4 turns from full soft for the RCE wagon springs.)

Overall, I've been happy with the Konis. The firmish springs I run can be a little harsh on the disjointed and pot-holed roads in the region. But, it's lovely when I give the suspension a chance to shine (as I did this weekend on a few twisty mountain roads in southwestern Virginia).

Edit: Hopefully this answers most of your questions. Feel free to send me a PM with anything else you'd like to know. Also, If my schedule is free, I'm up to helping you with the install.

Edit #2 for LGT+WRX: Your Koni install will be a bit different, as the rear suspension of your Legacy is different than that of the MY02-MY07 WRX. I'd imagine there would be a bit less hacking of strut bodies, but that the struts should give the same excellent results.

Yeah I bithced out on the front ones on my mazda but the backs were direct replacement minus you had to take the bottom bolt off and rotate the strut to adjust it. 3/4 stiff was tits 4/4 stiff was suicide. You could feel every pebble or leaf in the road. I'm deciding if I want to do it on my lgt or not.

i stopped in over there last night. there were not many people there because of the rain, but like he said ^, may 10th there are supposed to be like 200 some cars there. no lifted trucks, bikes allowed. ill probably head up there again next sunday. seems like they meet from 8 or 9 - ?

I'm not a big fan of Craig's list just because it seems very sketchy sometimes. And I saw the two WRX's on F4 and may be contacting one of the guys.

I have not looked on here yet.
