Default window not rolling down smooth.

Im writing this to hopefully help someone later on.

For the last few weeks my window was rolling down oddly. It would move smooth then jut down quickly a little bit then contiue smooth. I also heard a odd noise when I shut the door like something rattling around inside the door.

So this morning I try to roll it down and it stopped half way. I was able to pull up on it a bit with my finger on the switch to get it back up.

Solution:

After work today I took my door panel off. (wich is really easy on the wrx btw). I immidiatly noticed a loose bolt just sitting wedeged between the plastic sheet and the metal part of the door. Upon closer inspection I saw another one. Then I noticed the holes they had fallen from.

Anyway to make a long story short these were the bolts that held the window motor in place. There are 4 of them and 2 of mine were completley off. So I got my hand in there and lined the holes back up tighened all 4 bolts down and Tada it was good as new. My motor is still fine and the switches are still fine. I suppose the motor was getting cocked because the force of it was moving the whole assembly without the bolts to hold it in place. Also the noise I was hearing was ovbiously those 2 bolts banging around when I shut the door.

In my searching on nasioc I read of two other instances where these bolts had come loose. I didnt really realize what they were talking about untill I got in there.

In conclusion a little DIY helped me save a bunch of labor on investigating this issue and I fixed it for $0. So if you have something similar happening check those bolts holding the window motor assy in place.
