Default R&R Cupholder on GC8

Ok the captain has delivered and now I need to put this cupholder in.

This should be as easy as putting on a rear sway bar , but
I was just down looking at things in the car as well as the New cupholder sitting here, and well, I'm confused. SUPRISE!

Anyone now the trick?

Cheers,

_chris

open up the armrest undo the screws, pop off the piece around the e-brake, pop off the piece around the shifter undo the screws for the piece that goes around the radio ond ashtay if there are any can't remember, it is held on by two tabs at the bottom and top and some on the sides, then there are a couple of screws in the single cup holder that need to be removed.

so basically the easiest way is to take apart the center console to access the hidden screws for the single cupholder.

These instructions suck but i'm just going from memory.

If you want to do it gently, you need to dismantle the climate control area. If you want to do it the quick and dirty way, pull out the two screws on the sides (the ones you can easily see) and then take a long screwdriver and remove the last screw. If you look at the one I sent you, there is a "bulge" with a hole in it. This faces down (obviously ) when the cupholder is installed. That thing has the third and final screw going through it . Remove that (you'll likely lose it down the dash), push down gently with the screwdriver, and pull straight back. It will come out .

I knew those two screws were too good to be true.
