haha, I was waiting for this thread to start. We should get meets going. You guys throwing down some winter rubber for the school year? I'm leaning towards blizzaks... spending parents' money FTW!

I hear there are some good roads just outside of e-burg, is that true?

The snow is one thing I'm going to miss over here. The canyon drive to Yakima is pretty cool, and there are tons of flat open roads. As far as twisties in Eburg, I don't know of that many.

Yeah, actually did one on an older legacy a while back so I'll help you out with it when it comes time. Its nothing really complicated just nuts and bolts.

I think I'm getting Dunlop SP winter sport 3D's, one of the "high-performance" winter tires. Hard to find a dedicated snow/ice tire for an 18" wheel. But now my proxes4 are basically toast so come springtime I'm gona have to pop for a set of summer rubber. Yay, no more toyos!

How are the parking lots over there? Any vandalism or cars getting broken into?

I thought that the lots looked okay, and none of my friends over there have complained. I have done timing belts before, and there is one thing holding me back from doing mine. Do you need a special tool for the right side head to hold the camshafts or not???? ha

because if you don't I'm going to do it asap because I just went past 100k.

Man i actually don't remember. Don't think we used anything for this legacy but I don't know if the wrx is different. You should call whatever dealership is close to you and ask them.

I just moved from Eburg about a month ago, and there had been a string of break-ins but it seemed as though they were only targeting Hondas. As for vandalism, just don't park over night on the streets around campus if you can avoid it. When I moved over there three years ago, our apartment complex was resurfacing the parking lots, and someone decided it would be a good idea to throw a gang symbol on my car. Thankfully it was before I owned a Subaru, but it still was a PITA. Lastly...door dings! I don't know if it is the wind, or people just don't care, but I have some pretty solid dings just from the last year that I was over there. There is not much you can do, because parking is limited, but at least you know that it's a problem.

Is yours the one with the carbon fiber hood and exhaust, and is like dark blue colored that I always see parked outside of some apartments on the way to the airport?

I don't go to Central but I used to own a Subaru and I live in the area (Cle Elum). There are tons of nice roads, and if you're down for it, tons of nice gravel roads too

Nope...some Asian girl drives that one. Same color, but for the most part mine is mostly stock. I also don't live over there anymore. Don't bother waving to her though, I don't think I ever got a response.

Alright I'm bringing this one back. Seen a ton of subies over here, and talked to a few people who are interested in getting drives/meets going. So far:

WRB bugeye, COBB stickers on windows. I met you and we exchanged numbers.

WRB bugeye with sti wing, supertones, rims, exhaust. Threw you a deuce the other day but haven't met you yet, I'm pretty sure you live down the hall from my girl in Davies.

PSM '04 WRX with exhaust and rims, talked to you yesterday afternoon

PSM '05 sti with tinted tails, a loud-ass exhaust, and some mesh grills, said hi on my way to class this morning

UGM '07 Impreza wagon with an exhaust and black rims

Older RS with a huge CF hood scoop, possibly a magnaflow exhaust, goldies and sti badges

So I'm not sure how many of you are on here, but we should get a meet/drive going. Nothing "fast and the furious", I'm in enough trouble already.

I think some weekly/ bi-weekly meets would be fun, but hard to organize because so few of us are on here.

Yeah, the last one was. My bad.

Sooo......

Thursday, 7:30, same place (N-19 parking lot between freshman dorms and music building). I sent out a mass text earlier to all the people whose numbers I have.

If that time wont work for anyone, post up or PM me with an alternative and we'll see what we can do.

I know it's still short-ish notice. My bad once again.

I'm a noob to this site and subaru's (kinda), but I've been in ellensburg for a while. I drive a lightly modded GVR4 and a POS 1995 legacy with wrx wheels on it. I use to drive a white volvo 850R also.

I've seen you guys round. I think the dark blue impreza with the cf hood is on craigslist right now.

The roads around here can be badass, but this is not the time of year to be hauling *too* much ass up them. Traffic gets to be kinda sketchy, so if you do go out for a spirited drive be aware of the possibility of hunters coming in and out of the hills. This time of year is good for gravel though, just a week or two ago the road crews freshly graded and resurfaced the umptaneum. Manastash and taneum get done around this time also IIRC, so it makes for a great place to learn some gravel skills without beating the **** out of your pretty car.
