Default X-Games Rally 2008 Pictures - A little late, 'cause I forgot to post them here. :o

Posted these on SpecialStage, but forgot to post them here.

Oh well, here they are now!

Full album is here: http://s135.photobucket.com/albums/q...008/?start=all

These are all straight out of the camera, and the only thing I used Photoshop for was resizing and watermark. I know a few of them would pop a bit better with some level adjustment, but at this point, I just want to get them up, since it's been a week already, lol.

I think I have finally justified to myself buying a 70-200 VR f2.8, as my all around 18-200VR isn't as sharp as I would like at 200mm(naturally).

Anyway, enough of me criticizing my own work. I had a blast, and will definitely be going back next year!

See you all at Rally Colorado!

Enjoy!

Doo dee doo, just another day at the office...

Between these two pics, I stopped for a brief second thinking "OMG he's gonna go over!", then I remembered I had a D300 in my hand, and the rest is 5fps.

Excellent work!

It's nice to have one full range lens like the 18-200 BUT yes, get a hold of a 70-200VR and you'll never look back.

Mirra and ??? - 3rd (they both killed their cars so they couldn't race. Mirra into the wall at the ramp leading to street. amd the other guy flipped it when he landed short on the jump. )

Foust ****ed up and took the wall entering the first lap on the street. Gave Pastrana the time to speed ahead. I am glad Pastrana won this year.

Funny how the 690 car appears to have spinning front wheels and stationary rear.

Block got the other Bronze as both "earned" their way into the medals rounds.

ACP (flipping Evo dude) was eliminated by Mirra.

Block eliminated I think Johnson. They both DNFed their semi-finals runs (the runs that determines who gets to race for gold, and who gets to race for bronze).

Mirra and Block shared 3rd.

I was rooting for Block/Gelsomino, but I was glad to see Pastrana/Bosley win.

Thanks!

I found a used one last week locally for $1300, but I'm not quite to the point of actually dropping the money for one, though it would be nice to have one for Rally Colorado in 2 1/2 weeks. Either way though, I have decided to get one, so I will do what it takes to get one.

Probably using the skills he learned on bikes... i.e. stopping the front or back wheels to increase or decrease vehicle rotation in mid air (forget which does which).
