Question S204 Dash kit VS. STI Limited Comparison

Im about to order either the S204 dashkit from Harmanmotive.com or order the Sti Limited dash kit from Subarugenuineparts.com and my question to you guys is whats the differance and in you opinions what looks better? It looks to me that the S204 kit is darker or am I just seeing things? There about a $100 price difference so just wanna make sure I get what I pay for. Thanks in advance.

I have the S204 bits, they are flat black except for the AC knobs. I think the STI Limited bits are somewhat lighter, and may match up better to the stock radio.

S204 in me car:

S204 is a matte-ish soft paint black. The limited is a semi gloss very dark gunmetal color. You will have the 2 holes where the limited plaque is supposed to be... so if it were me I would go with the S204 and there will not be any holes. (just double check this before you order) Also the Limited version is very close to the 07 oem radio color where the S204 will be darker than the radio.

I personally think that the Usdm shifter trim looks much better and not so bulky. The one pictured above is far to bulky IMO.

eh I still dig it, but I was really referring to most shifter trims in general. Even the USDM STI one.

This may sound stupid, But why not just paint the stock one, It would be a hell of a lot cheaper. and it will look the same.

JDM=Expensive.

Some of its cool and some not so much. I have an 04 so if I want darker its the rattle can for me. I have yet to find any dash trim in a darker colour except for the OEM faux carbon fibre.

I would love a JDM S204 shift knob but they are non-existent and the replicas are like 200 bucks.

+1 on jdm prices out of hand

Cost = $50 I did the outside of the ac knobs, but they could have been left silver to match exactly.

I have friends that have rattle canned theirs and also have tried myself and it isnt the same texture or look when you actually have them both in front of you. You can try the plastic spray stuff but it doesnt last. But thanks for the comments. I didnt buy a 2005 car to spray paint my dash so if im going to do im doing it right.

Cheaper alternative would be to plasti-dip the trim.

Search this section for that term to get the massive thread. I'm definitely going to go that route!
