i was looking at the ga3r and you can only get down to a +20 offset. are you going to be running spacers to make up for the extra 12mm? and i know people have molded them on 04-07s but i have never seen someone even put someon an 08+

Being 5x100 you don't have a quick and easy 17x8 +53mm wheel, but a 17x8/8.5/9 +45mm with a 255/40/17 can work on lowering springs when the appropriate fender work is complete. |

I don't have any firsthand experience, but won't you have (or be close to) strut interference issues at 17x9+45 with a 255?

I'm actually looking at the 17x9 Rota Grids with 255/40/17, if that makes any difference. I'm gonna roll the fenders, my main concern is the rubbing and I want to be able to drive the car like it's intended, not cruise slowly for fear of the tires/wheels hitting

More info: Fender Mod how to: with 18x9 +45mm and 255/35 on stock struts and cobb springs Going to coilovers can pose a problem depending on spring length, spring diameter, strut diameter, # of locking collars etc. I know RCE T2s and KW V3s are capable of running a 18x9 +45mm with a 255/35/18 without issue inboard. Are you looking at the +42mm offset? |

yeah the +42 offset. Mine is a 2005 WRX btw. Would that be alright with just lowering springs or even stock still? I don't know whether that will hit or if I need coilovers for the fit. If I got coilovers they'd be cheap, so that makes the decision tough. Also just to get an accurate height with lowering springs makes me nervous, I don't want 'hellaflush' but I want the car to sit right with no rubbing, hitting, etc.

the rolling diameter difference is less than 1%. The center diff tolerances, recommended by subaru, are a variance of no more than 4%. Thanks for the input though!

I've seen multiple sources saying .25" difference to circumference is the highest allowable difference. the 285/30/18 at 77.9" and 295/30/18 at 78.5" has a .6" difference in circumference. This is well past the .25" circumference difference. Am I missing something? |

Compared to those, mine aren't meaty, but I just got some Federal 595 RS-R's mounted onto 17x9" RPF1's. They're quite a wide 255 compared to what I've seen in the past. Looking forward to actually trying them in a few months.

this is what i went by. After consulting with a subaru tech, I was given the answer that as long as the circumference is within 4% (1973.3/1991.6=.9908%) |

Meat wagon is finally coming together. Not sure you can tell in this pic but 255 SS595s are actually wider than my RA mudflaps.

I got a question for you meaty folks: I recently got some karlton flares with 10 inch wide wheels and I want to run a 295/35/18 tire, has anyone done this with success or is it going to be too tall like I've been hearing from everyone?
