Does this count as meaty?

275/40-17 V710, 17x9 Rota DPT +42mm offset, 3mm spacer in the rear to clear GPMoto Coilovers, need to do some clearance the front or run spacers cause it hits at full lock (other than that not much rub)

Pondering widebody or flares but then I'd need to go wider

Oh yeah and my exhaust is off of the AVO Widebody car... w00t.

Actually almost all the Japanese tuners tend to run their cars slightly stretched, while US tuners run meaty. All a matter of preference I suppose. Whatever the driver feels best with is obviously going to produce the better result.

HKS CT230R = 265/35/18 on 18x10
AMS Evo8 = 285/30/18 on 18x10.5

I'm not sure what size the Sun Auto Cyber Evo is running, but if you look at these pics it's obviously stretched.

^ yes, good info.. the older imprezas and evo time attack cars from the beginning years of the 2000's ran 255/40's on 17x9.5's and set a load of records. It seems most of the newer time attack cars are running 18's now.

I wanted to share with the folks looking for tires.... the Federal RSR's run a bit oversized. As you can see in these pics a 235/40/17 nearly fills out a 17x9.

I would imagen in a 245 width this tire would be extremely wide.

The azenis last a surprisingly long time on the street. I don`t have any updated pictures of my car with the lip on, but I do have one when I put stock suspension and wheels and tires back on for winter. The JDM scoop is on in these as well as some other goodies! Will update pics in the spring with new wheels, brakes, and the V2 lip on!

wheel specs? 275s? seems rt615s must run REAL narrow then.

wheels are work emo's 18 by 9.5 +38. Tires falcon azenis 615's 275/35/18

as for my alignment, front at -1.3 camber rear at -1.7 camber, running tein flex's without rear camber plates (pics were taken before the plates were installed, and it only rubbed then over high speed bumps) now no rubbing at all. I dont know if they run narrow but they look pretty big in person.

Chances are you have another mode. Nearly all the Federals start with RS something. They run very wide.

No autoX. I've only done some hard canyons runs and some rain drifts in an abandoned parking lot.

This is probably the 7th or 8th set of tires I've had on the STI... and probably 40th set of performance tires I've owned in my life. They are one of my favorites so far. They beat the RT615's hands down. They don't heat up and get loose like the RT's do. I've found the car really hard to break loose on the Federal RSR's. Even with a load of power, clutch kicks, and rain the tires didn't break loose anywhere as fast as I thought they would.

They are either 17x9+44 or +38 work emotion cr kais. he may be using spacers because my +44s dont clear my struts with 235s.

Im not too crazy about stretched tires (if you dont have to do it). But cars like the Cyber Evo can get away with it. They are probably running 285/30's on a 18x11 wheel. Running 235/40's on a 18x9.5 is gay.
