I'll be there.

This time, the damn canopy will be nailed into the ground and tie-wrapped to my 4 tires that get taken off...no more flying canopy.

I was thinkin about going as well. Kinda unsure about it..never been to one of these. What time are you planning on leaving Joe? Mind if I follow you there? Things I should bring besides cash and a tire gauge?

Unhappy

Fitz - A BMW membership card and a time machine.
You'll need the time machine to go back in time a month and register for this autocross.

Sorry guys - but that is the sole reason I like the SCCA, even though they can be jerks. - Kris

I poop on the SCCA! what do you get at SCCA auto-x's? About three 40 second runs?? That sucks. And it's a long day of waiting. At this weeks BMWCCA auto-x we're looking at 6 runs on a course that averages about 1:20 per run, plus fun runs!! And the BMW course stays the same for half the year, so you can really tell if you're improving. Not to mention the fact that there arent half as many hard-ons there. But anyways, I dont mean to rant, Im just having a bad day w/the whole roommate thing and all.
later,
Nate

For me to poop on!

I got 5 timed runs last time...
They're getting better, you just have to ignore the hard-ons. I've seen a few hard boiled eggs at the BMW ones too. "... My M3 can take your $20,000 'sports car'..." There are people like that at every event. If you're having fun, that's all that counts. - Kris

Ouch! Hmm..ok...so who do I have to send the money/application to so that hopefully by next month I'll be able to partake?? Any online web sites etc??
Thanks,
Fitz

PS. It seriously takes a month for them to realize who just registered? That's pretty damn sad considering all the technological crap we have avilable to us nowadays.

Actually Fitz...

It doesn't take a month. You can show up and become a BMW member, which is one of the reuirements for racing with the BMW club.

It's just that the registration of the 1st four of the year opened a month ago and it looks like it may have filled up quick. They only allow 75 entrants, that's how you can get 6 runs in, and maybe fun runs at the end of the day.

Registration for the last 4 auto-x's doesn't open until July 17th, but again, you need to be a member.

C'mon by and watch us race. It's a great introduction to Auto-Xing.

The next SCCA event is at Devens on the following Sunday....and then the Sat and Sunday after that too...but the one for the 10th and 11th you need to be a member to race because it's the National Tour.

Go to www.boston-bmwcca.org and get your membership. As long as you have a cc it only takes about 2 weeks. then you can just preregister for the next event.

Thanks for the info. I'll definitely be registering today but I don't know if I'll make it on Sunday. Showing up to watch racing would get me so riled up I'd probably be driving like a madman the whole way home.
